As fall approaches, campus is gearing up to welcome new and returning students to campus through a broad range of orientation activities and events.
August 28 to September 1
More than 400 international and out-of-region domestic students will participate in Jumpstart, a pre-orientation program that supports students with their academic, social, and cultural transition to UBC. On August 28, Jumpstart families are invited to join us for the first of two Parent Conferences offered this year.
August 30
More than 100 graduate students will take part in the College of Graduate Studies Student Orientation, a day-long event that provides information about the College of Graduate Studies, UBC’s student resources, student and supervisor roles, scholarships and awards, and more.
September 3
Student Housing & Hospitality Services will welcome approximately 1000 students to UBC Okanagan residences for its annual move-in day. During the afternoon, we’ll host family members of our new-to-UBC students at the second of this year’s two Parent Conferences.
September 4
More than 100 new students will be on campus for the Aboriginal Student Orientation to familiarize themselves with the campus, make connections and prepare for a successful start at UBC.
September 5
More than 2,500 new undergraduate students are invited to join our community for Create, a day-long series of events for the newest members of our close-knit campus community, to help launch them on their path to success.
September 6 to 13
New and returning students will take part in Welcome Week, a week-long program that supports all students and their success as they transition to life at UBC.
