University Way detour in effect this weekend

January 25, 2018

Construction disruption map

January 27 and 28, 2018 | 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

To support campus development and future energy needs, excavation for new water lines is currently taking place on University Way. Please be advised of the following changes to traffic patterns:

  • University Way will be closed to through traffic between the northern roundabout and Alumni Avenue. For access to campus, please use John Hindle Drive to Alumni Avenue.
  • The sidewalk on the northern side of University Way will be closed for parts of the construction period. Flaggers will be in place to redirect pedestrians and an accessible pathway will be maintained. The sidewalk will be re-opened as quickly as possible.
  • Bus pick-ups and drop-offs will not be affected.

Fencing, signage, and flaggers will be in place to assist with directing pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. For your safety, please obey flaggers and signage and allow yourself extra time to account for these traffic changes.

Construction has been scheduled for this weekend in order to minimize disruptions to the campus community during the work week, and construction hours have been extended in order to ensure that the project is completed as quickly as possible.
