A refreshed Okanagan campus website – ok.ubc.ca – is almost ready to go. The updated site will offer a more vibrant online experience than the current website, which last saw a major refresh more than four years ago.
The site update is intended elevate community engagement, research and innovation, improve online interactions with current students, provide faculty and staff with more intuitive access to in-demand online resources and to present the Okanagan campus in a way that is appealing and helpful to prospective undergraduate and graduate students.
The redesign involved extensive research: focus groups, consultations and the examination of analytics and best practices for web design.
New or expanded sections of the website provide overviews of community engagement opportunities, academic and research highlights, and student life. More photos, greater use of informational graphics, and a clean, contemporary look are intended to more readily connect visitors to the information they seek.
Final adjustments are now underway, with the new content expected to “go live” on Thursday evening.
Every effort has been made to ensure any current bookmarks will continue to work as usual. Search functionality may be limited while Google indexes the new site. Once published, the site will include a ‘Website Feedback’ link in the footer for reporting any issues and general feedback.
