Visual Arts students at UBC Okanagan will host their annual graduation art exhibition called 20, April 12 to 24. The show takes place on campus, inside the Creative and Critical Studies building which will be transformed into an exhibition space. The multi-day event showcases a range of the best works created by 20 emerging artists.

20 includes a wide variety of work from the artists including sculpture, photography, drawing, painting, digital media and printmaking. Each student has explored various themes through self-directed bodies of work, explains Myron Campbell who teaches in the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies (FCCS).

“20 is a major accomplishment, as each student will be showcasing their most refined works after years of artistic explorations and studies,” says Campbell.  “The group exhibition is a testament to the dedication of all the artists and the FCCS faculty members. 20 is a milestone for the visual arts students and they promise to deliver an exceptional show.”

The students are eager to share their art with the Okanagan community, and invite the public to attend a closing reception that takes place Saturday, April 21 from 7 to 10 p.m. Visitors will be able to purchase some of the artworks as well as discuss the pieces with the artists, who will be in attendance at the reception. The event includes free catering, music while local wineries and breweries will be on hand selling beverages.

The exhibition is free and open to the public and runs from April 12 to April 24. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday through Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. For more information visit: ubco20twenty.wordpress.com or email: vacu.ubcokanagan@gmail.com.
