Student Recruitment and Advising is proud to have hosted another Destination UBC event at the Okanagan campus over the May 11 to 13 weekend
Beginning with an extra day of programming for Aboriginal students on Thursday and concluding midday Sunday, the event hosted approximately 400 travellers — bussing, flying or driving in from across BC and Canada — and more than 300 locals for an immersive experience that showcased all that Kelowna and the Okanagan campus has to offer.
There were chemistry shows, advising sessions, lip-sync battles and bike rides. There were escape rooms, yoga sessions, faculty overviews and trips to downtown Kelowna. Beyond that, there was lots of activity and happy prospective students. Many of them remarked that Destination UBC ‘sealed the deal’ for them and they will be accepting their offers to UBC Okanagan.
When you meet members of the 2018W cohort in the fall, ask them if they attended Destination UBC. You’ll hear a cheer from the Student Recruitment and Advising office when they say yes.
