Discovery Lane detours

June 11, 2018

Discovery Lane detour

June 11 to approx. end of June

Construction work will be commencing on Monday, June 11 to create a roundabout at the intersection of Discovery Ave. and University Way. This is an improvement project to support traffic changes that will come with the completion of John Hindle Dr. and the new west campus access.

University Way traffic headed for the Upper Campus Health Building, the University Children’s Learning Centre (daycare) and all residences along Discovery Ave. will be redirected to Lower Residences Lane. Access to the Reichwald Health Sciences Centre will be via single-lane alternating traffic on Discovery Avenue.

All pedestrian crossings on Discovery Ave. will also be closed for the duration of the roundabout construction and detours will be available.

Fencing, signage, and traffic control personnel will be in place to assist with directing pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.

For your safety, please obey flaggers and signage and allow yourself extra time when travelling through these areas.

For a construction and detour map, please visit transportation.ok.ubc.ca.
