Dr. Patricia Lasserre has been appointed interim Provost and Vice-Principal Academic at UBC Okanagan, effective July 1, 2018.
Well known to our university community for her commitment to academic leadership and teaching excellence and innovation, Dr. Lasserre is a professor of computer science and has served as Associate Provost, Enrolment and Academic Programs, since June 2016. Earlier, she served as Associate Dean, Students and Curriculum, in the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences.
Our current Provost and Vice-Principal Academic, Dr. Cynthia Mathieson, will complete her term at the end of June, having served with distinction in this position since January 2014.
I am grateful to Dr. Lasserre for accepting this important interim appointment, as we work towards the selection of UBC Okanagan’s next Provost and Vice-Principal Academic. Please join me in welcoming Patricia to her new role.
