The cross-campus working group on student evaluations of teaching is hosting an open forum on Tuesday, November 26 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and Friday, November 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in EME 4218.
This event is open to all UBC students, faculty and staff. It will include a brief introduction to the working group’s mandate, a review of what has been done to date and a discussion by some of the members of the working group. The floor will then be opened for questions, comments and broader discussion on the group’s emerging recommendations.
The working group is being co-chaired by Peter Arthur, professor of teaching, School of Education at UBC Okanagan, and Dan Pratt, professor emeritus of education and senior scholar for the Centre for Health Education Scholarship at UBC Vancouver.
This is the first of several opportunities for the UBC community to provide input and shape the work of the group. If you are not able to make either of these events I encourage you look for future opportunities to share your voice. There will be other ways to do so before the group submits their recommendations to both UBC Senates by May of 2020.
Sincerely,
Ananya Mukherjee Reed
Provost and Vice-President, Academic
UBC Okanagan
