Post-partum weakness got you down? Try on-campus clinical Pilates.

February 3, 2020

on-campus clinical Pilates

Are you experiencing reduced strength, or fear vigorous exercise due to diastasis recti or other post-partum complications? There is a solution – clinical Pilates.

Join a small on-campus group in a safe setting to focus on deep core activation and proper breathing and movement form. Learn how to translate these techniques into your daily activities and get stronger each day with certified Pilates instructor (NeuPilates) and pre- and post-natal fitness specialist (Fit 4 Two) Heather Booi. Booi has experience rehabilitating common abdominal wall and pelvic floor dysfunctions.

Starting on February 18, this 50-minute mat Pilates class will be offered on Tuesdays or Fridays from 11:05 to 11:55 a.m. in The Hangar’s Studio 1. It will run for eight weeks and cost $196 (including GST). The class size will be six to eight participants, and some personal equipment will be required (see registration link for more details)

The registration deadline is Friday, February 14. To register, visit: ca.apm.activecommunities.com/ubcokanagan/Activity_Search/6471

This event is organized by UBC Recreation as well as the Work Reintegration and Accommodation Program (WRAP). Questions can be directed to athletics.okanagan@ubc.ca.
