Public invited to 23/7 — UBC Okanagan’s BFA graduating exhibition

March 29, 2007

This year’s UBC Okanagan Bachelor of Fine Arts graduates are presenting their work in a public exhibition starting April 21 at UBC Okanagan.

The public is invited to attend 23/7, an extensive exhibition of student works including paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, photography, video and installation work.

“This artwork indicates solid, inventive investigation of media and subject matter transformed into a personal direction,” says Ruth MacLaurin, Associate Professor of Creative Studies. “The exhibition provides an opportunity for the public to view works that encompass a variety of creative approaches and solutions.”

The 23/7 exhibition in the Fine Arts and Health Building at UBC Okanagan will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Saturday, April 21, through Saturday, April 28. Exhibition hours are extended to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27.

The opening night reception is Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. The public is welcome.

Traveling Exhibition

A selection of works from the 23/7 show will be exhibited at the Vernon Art Gallery, 3228-31 Ave. in Vernon from May 3 to 23. The opening reception for the traveling exhibition is on Thursday, May 6 at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
