A warm campus community welcome to Leah Sanford, the Student Development and Advising team’s new English Language Centre Coordinator.
Leah will lead the new English Language Centre (ELC), focusing on developing programming to support academic success for students at all levels — from first-year undergraduates, to PhD students — whose first language is not English.
ELC Support programs will include LPI prep workshops, grammar and essay instruction, one on one appointments, peer tutoring, conversation practice, as well as presentation and group work coaching.
Leah is a diversity and intercultural specialist who brings years of experience working with international education programs at Okanagan College and Langara College. Leah is also a graduate of Royal Roads University, earning her MA in international and intercultural communications.
Leah, and the English Language Centre, can be found in the University Centre building (room UNC207I).
