Upcoming WestGrid Seminar Series talks

Using WestGrid resources to simulate and understand elementary chemical processes

Georg Schreckenbach, associate professor of chemistry at the University of Manitoba, will be giving a talk by videoconference on November 23.

Find out more about using computational quantum chemistry to simulate and understand elementary chemical processes, testing of computational methods for the production of plastic materials and modelling the chemistry of uranium and other heavy elements.

Installing software packages on WestGrid systems

Belaid Moa, high performance computing specialist at the University of Victoria, will be giving a talk on November 30.

Find out more about software package customization, user-based software, installation challenges faced by WestGrid users and effective guidelines to address these challenges.

These talks are open to everyone and take place at 12 noon in the Fipke Centre (room FIP337). To RSVP contact Collaboration and Visualization Specialist Todd Zimmerman.
