United Way committee members Louise Nelson and Sharon McCoubrey present some of the tasty items that helped make this year's event the most successful yet.

The annual United Way Bake Sale and Silent Auction held on November 24 helped raise more than $3,200. The Okanagan campus United Way committee would like to thank everyone who supported this event.

Reminder: donations still needed for this year’s campaign

These fundraiser events are important to help build awareness for the United Way, but the heart of our campaign goal is the personal generosity of UBC faculty and staff members. Consider a donation to the United Way, either through payroll deduction or a one-time gift this year.

Every dollar raised in this year’s campaign stays in the Okanagan.

What can donations help the United Way do?

Donating $5 per paycheque or $130 per year provides:

  • A car seat for a new born whose parents cannot afford one to take them home from the hospital

Donating $10 per paycheque or $260 per year provides:

  • 50 home delivered meals, allowing someone to stay in their home
  • 1 day of counselling and support for someone with a brain injury
To make a donation contact Elizabeth Kershaw.
