Outweek 2012: pride, not prejudice

February 3, 2012

Join the campus community next week in supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, transexual, two-spirit and intersex (LGBTQTTI) students, faculty and staff. The theme for this year’s Outweek events is Pride, not prejudice.

The week kicks off at 12 noon on Monday in the Administration building foyer with the Outweek opening ceremony followed by the annual raising of the Pride flag in the campus courtyard. The week’s events also include:

MONDAY, FEB. 6

Film screening: For the Bible Tells
Me So

3 p.m., University Centre theatre

Outboard: positive messages to show support for the LGBTQTTI community and allies
11 a.m. to 2 p.m., ADM foyer

TUESDAY, FEB. 7

Real world martial arts defense system
3:30 to 5 p.m., Gymnasium

Queer karaoke night (19+)
7 to 9 p.m., The Well pub

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 8

Two-spirited film screening
2 p.m., room UNC210

Stereotype on the Runway
6:30 p.m., EME building foyer, admission by donation

THURSDAY, FEB. 9

Anti-discrimination response training
2 to 3:30pm, room LIB306

FCCS Visiting Author Series: Amber Dawn
7 to 8:30 p.m., Okanagan Regional Library

FRIDAY, FEB. 10

Pride, not prejudice party (19+)
8 p.m. The Habitat
