A golden opportunity is coming up for UBC students to see if their entrepreneurial ideas are viable. Mar. 2 to 4 is Startup Weekend in Kelowna — a 54-hour event for entrepreneurs to get hands-on experience with others, share ideas, form teams, build products and launch start-ups.
Startup Weekends are specifically designed for entrepreneurs interested in receiving feedback on an idea, looking for a co-founder, or who want to learn a new skill. It is a risk-free environment where everyone is expected to roll up their sleeves and dive into the exhilarating world of startups.
The first eight students from UBC’s Okanagan campus to register for Startup Weekend will have their registration fees paid by the Okanagan campus University-Industry Liaison Office (UILO) and entrepreneurship@UBC.
Go to the Startup Weekend website for more information and to register. Or contact UILO Associate Director Derek Gratz.
