Nearly 2,000 new-to-UBC students were on campus for yesterday’s Create: New Student Orientation.
The seventh annual orientation day included speeches from UBC President Stephen Toope, Okanagan campus DVC and Principal Deborah Buszard and Curtis Tse, Executive Chair of the UBC Students’ Union Okanagan (UBCSUO). The day also included a barbecue for students and an outdoor concert with Vancouver-based indie rock band Said The Whale.
The first-ever Create Week collaboration between the UBCSUO and UBC is currently underway. The Okanagan orientation team encourages all staff, faculty and administrators to attend one of the 45 Create Week activities taking place all this week.
The Okanagan orientation team also thank the more than 200 student, staff and faculty volunteers for their time to help make this week a success.
