Change starts right here on this campus. Or, to be more accurate, it started on September 27.

The United Way Walk-Thru Breakfast held last Thursday was the kick-off event for this year’s Okanagan campus campaign. Deputy Vice Chancellor and Principal Deborah Buszard joined the Okanagan campus United Way committee at one of the breakfast stations that were positioned across campus. This year’s event helped raise over $1,400 for the United Way of the Central and South Okanagan Similkameen.

This year’s campaign goal is to raise $50,000. This is the eighth annual campaign for the Okanagan campus, which has raised over $300,000 to support the local community.

Through special events, employee payroll deductions and donations, UBC asks that the campus community please consider supporting the 2012 campaign.

The campaign committee would like to thank the event sponsors for their donations: Claremont Ranch Organics, the UBC Bookstore, IT, Media and Classroom Services, the UBC Library, and Campus Recreation.
