Nursing student wins team captain leadership award

November 16, 2012

Barb Hoy and Robyn Kosugi

Barb Hoy, Kelowna Run for the Cure Co-Director, presents nursing student Robyn Kosugi with the Post-Secondary Challenge Team Captain Leadership Award

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation presented Robyn Kosugi with the Post Secondary Challenge Team Captain Leadership Award recently for her incredible efforts leading the School of Nursing team in the 2012 Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.

Kosugi led more than 57 team members to help raise $7,833 for this year’s run.

“The UBCO nursing faculty is a unique group and it is great to be able to get together to support a cause that is personally important to many of us, and is in line with our career choice,” said Kosugi.  “Last year we created the team and after seeing the incredible support and spirit in our first year, it was a huge motivation to make 2012 even bigger.”
