History Professor Doug Owram, former deputy vice-chancellor and principal of UBC’s Okanagan campus, has been appointed Chair of the Expert Panel on Memory Institutions and the Digital Revolution by the Council of Canadian Academies.
As Chair, Owram will work with a multidisciplinary group of experts to assess how memory institutions — including archives, libraries, museums, and other cultural institutions — can embrace the opportunities and challenges of the changing ways in which Canadians are communicating and working in the digital age.
