Be Bear Aware
Campus Security reports an early morning (1 a.m. Friday) sighting of a black bear on Alumni Ave. near the UBC Okanagan campus bus stop. The bear moved into the wooded area adjacent to Parking Lots F and H, north of University Way, and has not been seen since shortly after 1 a.m.
The local B.C. Conservation Office has been notified. The campus community is encouraged to be Bear Aware — exercise caution if you are walking in the woods or along the linear park trails. Also, please ensure that all garbage is properly disposed of.
Bear sightings on campus should be immediately reported to Campus Security, 250-807-8111.
