February 18, 2014

Celebrate Research 2014Discover a showcase of rich ideas, achievements and possibilities from Okanagan campus researchers at this year’s Celebrate Research events.

Celebrate Research 2014 — being held from March 3 to 7– will immerse Okanagan communities in a celebration of the diversity of UBC research with a variety of on- and off-campus events.

The week kicks off on March 3 at the Rotary Centre for the Arts with the intriguing talk from Dr. Jim Hogg: Is there life on other planets?

On Tuesday and Wednesday, School District 23 students will present their projects to campus as UBC hosts the SD 23 regional Science Fair. Also mid-week, 13 graduate student finalists present their research at the inaugural Okanagan Three Minute Thesis.

The week caps off with the Celebrate Research Awards and Reception on March 7. This reception will announce the Okanagan campus’ Researcher of the Year and the newly established Undergraduate and Graduate Student Researchers of the Year. The Three Minute Thesis winner will also be announced.
