Another sustainable transportation option for students, faculty and staff will soon be at UBC Okanagan.
Starting February 16, the OGO Car Share Co-op will be stationing one of its vehicles on campus. The carshare vehicle is located at a designated location in parking lot E, right next to the EME building.
Carsharing makes occasional use of a vehicle affordable, while providing an incentive to minimize driving and rely on alternative travel options as much as possible.
OGO Car Share Co-op is particularly relevant for students who only need occasional access to a vehicle to do things like weekly grocery shopping or exploring the Okanagan. Access to carsharing will provide a convenient mobility option for staff and faculty members who need to go to off-campus for meetings and still want to work via sustainable transportation options.
Casual (non co-op) members pay a monthly administration fee to cover some of the fixed costs of the car, plus minimal usage fee by the hour and the kilometer.
Staff from the Co-op will be on campus in the Fipke Centre foyer on February 16, to introduce the new vehicle and service to the campus community. To register or find out more about OGO Car Share Co-op, visit: ogocarshare.ca
