Business professor discusses why the best consumer experience is good business

Prof. Chris Voss

Prof. Chris Voss

What: Faculty of Management Visiting Speaker Series
Who: Emeritus Professor Chris Voss, London Business School, and professor of operations management at Warwick Business School (U.K.)
When: Tuesday, March 31, 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Rotary Centre for the Arts, 421 Cawston Ave., downtown Kelowna

Whether you are zip-lining in BC, skiing in Europe, or watching a musical performance in China, it’s all about the experience. And if you’re footing the bill, you want it to be the best experience ever.

Join business school Prof. Chris Voss as he examines how organizations design high-experience services for consumers. Drawing on China’s first production of a Western Musical—Mamma Mia!—in Mandarin, and skiing adventures in Europe and Canada, Voss will discuss: What is “experience”? Why is it important to all services? What can organizations learn from leaders in the field? Voss will expand on these questions and examine how much experience is culturally bound.

Voss is a leading empirical services researcher in service management, with a particular focus on service design and management. He is emeritus professor, London Business School and professor of operations management at Warwick Business School, UK.

His visit is part of UBC Okanagan’s Faculty of Management Visiting Speaker Series, where industry leaders speak on current, cutting-edge business topics.

Voss will speak at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, 421 Cawston Ave., Kelowna, on Tuesday, March 31 at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Register at: march2015vsschrisvoss.eventbrite.com
