Woodshed summer evening reading program continues

Who: Authors Sarah de Leeuw and Melissa Hart, music by Sami Al-khalili
When: Friday, August 7 at 7 p.m.
Where: Woodhaven Eco Culture Centre, 969 Raymer Road, Kelowna

UBC Okanagan’s summer reading series continues this week with an evening event at the Woodhaven Eco Culture Centre featuring award-winning writers.

Sarah de Leeuw, author of Geographies of a Lover, Unmarked: Landscapes Along Highway 16 and other award-winning works, will be joined by young adult author Melissa Hart. The pair will read some of their work and it will be accompanied by music provided by Sami Al-khalili.

This is a free event; everyone is welcome to attend. The Woodshed Reading Series is sponsored by the Canada Council for the Arts, UBC’s Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, The Association of Literature, Environment and Culture in Canada, and the Regional District of the Central Okanagan.

Music begins at 7 p.m. Friday, August 7. The Woodhaven Eco Culture Centre is located at 969 Raymer Road, Kelowna. Participants are encouraged to car pool, and bring a blanket if they would like to sit on the ground.
