A new Inclusive Technology Lab (ITL) is now open on campus for all students, faculty and staff. The ITL is an environment designed to facilitate learning and research through access, training and experimentation with a variety of assistive technologies.
This new lab is a collaboration of the UBC Okanagan Library and the Disability Resource Centre. Located in LIB 101, it provides the campus community with six assistive technology workstations, a distraction-reduced study space, and an accessible group study space. Some of this assistive technology can also be borrowed from the Library Service Desk, located centrally on the first floor of the Library.
Peer and professional support is also available to help make the most of the technology available.
To find out more about how to obtain access to the ITL, visit: http://library.ok.ubc.ca/use-the-library/itl/#access. Or join the Library and DRC during Diversity & Equity Week for an ITL Open House on October 7, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
