Okanagan clinicians, educators, families will find relief in mindfulness training events

A weekend of workshops supporting mindfulness, meditation and current neuroscience research
When: 
February 5 to 7, daytime and evening workshops
Where: 
Rotary Centre for the Arts, 421 Cawston Ave, Kelowna

Clifford Saron is known internationally for his research on the effect of meditation on attention, emotional regulation, brain function and physical health. Saron’s other research area focuses on uni- and multisensory processing in children with autism.

This weekend, February 5 to 7, Kelowna’s ENSO Society for Contemplative Engagement, Autism Okanagan, in partnership with UBC Okanagan’s Faculty of Education, will host “A Weekend with Dr. Clifford Saron” at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, in Kelowna. Workshops on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon will focus solely on mindfulness and meditation, while Saturday evening and Sunday morning will focus on the study of autism.

The weekend of workshops includes topics such as: Training the Mind, Opening the Heart, Community Meditation, Compassion and Suffering, Making the World Whole, and A Morning for Mothers of Children living with Autism. Workshops vary in price.
