Here are some professional development opportunities for faculty and staff at UBC Okanagan over the next few weeks:

UBC to host Emerging Research Workshops

As part of its Centennial celebration, UBC will host a series of Emerging Research Workshops at the Vancouver campus this spring.

The workshops will focus on three areas in which UBC is emerging as a potential global leader:

    Ethics and Pragmatism in Indigenous Research
  • March 8 to 11
    Water Ways: Understanding the Past to Navigate the Future
  • April 27 to 29
    How Epigenetics Remembers your Past to Shape your Future

Humanities computing

The Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies’ Humanist Data Lab and WestGrid have organized a Software Carpentry for Humanists Workshop on February 22 and 23.

This workshop will unlock the research power of your computer, save you hours, and free you from the artificial limitations set by software.

Scientific visualization

Join FCCS and WestGrid for a hands-on ParaView workshop with Alex Razoumov. This workshop is open to all faculty and students.
