More than 40 faculty and staff — just over 3 per cent of employees — have contributed to the 2016 UBC Okanagan United Way campaign by making payroll e-pledges. The goal is to encourage e-pledges from 10 per cent or more of our faculty and staff, and to help more than 3,000 people in our region through United Way-funded community partners.
In addition to directly supporting our community, all who make payroll e-pledges in October will be eligible to win a multi-pass to The Hangar Fitness and Recreation Centre, courtesy of UBC Okanagan Athletics and Recreation, in a draw made Oct. 31. And anyone contributing through payroll e-pledge in October or November will also be eligible to win a one-year parking permit on campus, courtesy of UBC Okanagan Parking Services, to be drawn Nov. 30.
To make a payroll e-pledge, check your Oct. 11 email from the United Way campaign, containing your personalized link to the online e-pledge system. Your donation in any amount will help improve the lives of struggling families, lonely seniors, and underprivileged children. Without your support, none of this would be possible.
