Food Exchange open to all students, at all times
Food insecurity is often framed as a rite of passage for university students, when in reality it’s a struggle for many who have to choose between eating and being able to afford the costs of post-secondary education.
To help combat this, UBC Okanagan’s Food Exchange program makes a variety of food items available to those who need them.
Located on the third floor of the University Centre beside the Health and Wellness Centre, the Food Exchange is an emergency supply for students in need.
Students are able to leave or pick up food donations as needed. It’s that simple. Students may also request a hamper – self-selected items to help make meals over a longer period of time. And all employees are encouraged to refer any students who they know are facing financial hardship or food insecurity for any reason.
