Parking and traffic changes this spring and summer

April 11, 2017

Geoexchange upgrading Apr. 30 to May 11

UBC Okanagan is increasing capacity for the geoexchange district energy system on campus. This work includes installing larger underground water pipes near the intersection of University Way and Alumni Avenue.

The work will be done between April 30 and May 11, 2017, and will require the temporary closure of the University Way entrance to Parking Lot F, adjacent to the University Centre.

Those with permits for Lot F will be welcome to park in any of the other lots on campus while construction is under way.

Visitor parking will be available at the parking meters near Lot G, and day passes are also available in any of the parking lots.

Those driving to campus are asked to be aware of temporary single-lane traffic on University Way near the intersection with Alumni Avenue. Watch for traffic control signs and flag people near the construction area.

If you have any concerns about this project, contact Project Manager Justin Allaire at 250-807-9325.

Parking Lot E closed from late April to end of August

A new transit exchange will be under construction at UBC Okanagan this spring and summer. The work will affect traffic along Alumni Avenue and parking in Lot E, adjacent to the Engineering, Management and Education building.

Parking Lot E will be closed from the end of April to the end of August to allow for transit exchange construction. During this time, permit holders in Lot E will be permitted to park in any of the other lots on campus.

If you have any concerns about temporary parking arrangements related to these projects, contact Parking Services at 250-807-8554.
