The third annual Interdisciplinary Graduate Student Conference at UBC’s Okanagan campus is next May 3 and 4. The call for papers — which closes Jan. 31 — welcomes proposals on the conference themes of health and culture, gender/sexuality, pop culture (or children and culture), post-colonial, and international relations.
This conference seeks to examine cultural artifacts from creative and critical perspectives. Although the focus is on studies in English, languages, culture, multimedia arts, and creative writing, submissions are encouraged from across graduate disciplines.
Proposals should be no longer than 300 words, bear no identifying information, and be accompanied by a covering letter that includes the applicant’s name and contact information. Please submit proposals to ubco.igsa@gmail.com as email attachments in .pdf, .rtf, .doc or .docx format by January 31, 2011.
