They’ve learned about nectar trails and planted a xeriscape garden, and even gone bird-watching. Now the gardening club is getting ready for winter.
On October 20 the UBC Okanagan Gardening Club will be joined by Ken Salvail, founder of Ken’s Horticultural Services, for a workshop on winter season gardening. This is the final workshop in the Learning Local Landscapes Speaker Series and will cover everything from plant division and fall cleanups to dormant plants and indoor gardening.
The workshop runs from 12 noon to 1 p.m. and will take place in the Science building atrium. Dress warmly and be sure to bring a notepad and pen.
The workshop is free of charge and open to all students, faculty and staff. To register or find out more, contact natalie.ingram@ubc.ca.
Facilities Management gratefully acknowledges UBC’s Healthy Workplace Initiatives Program and Lee Valley Tools, Ltd. for co-sponsoring this initiative.
