Here are some professional development opportunities for faculty and staff at UBC’s Okanagan campus over the next few weeks:

Centre for Teaching and Learning starts new term with a full slate of workshops

Teaching Portfolios

This workshop will provide an opportunity to learn more about the purpose and contents of a teaching portfolio. Participants will be given examples.

Introduction to Snagit

Snagit is a screen capture program that can assist in the creation of quality Word documents and presentations. It allows content that appears on a computer screen to be captured as either an image or video.

Midpoint Feedback

In this workshop, participants will examine various midpoint feedback strategies and hear from faculty who currently use midpoint feedback to enhance their teaching and the student learning experience.

Human Resources hosts business writing style workshop and Less Stress at Work lunch and learn

Write to Win: Business Writing Style I

Anybody can learn the basics of jig sawing together a letter or report. However, subtleties of style, audience address and analysis, and clarity of purpose are the key to ensuring that your communication skills earn the results you want.

Less Stress at Work Lunch and Learn

This hour session discusses the signs and symptoms of stress, how to deal with the stress in your life and how to help yourself and others stay mentally tenacious.
