Sam Charles, senior media production specialist with Media Centre Studio
Sam Charles, senior media production specialist with Media Centre Studio, has been selected as videographer for Team Canada at next year’s Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan.
This will be the second-consecutive Universiade for Charles, who was the Team Canada videographer last year at the Summer Universiade in Gwangju, Korea.
The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation. The name is a combination of the words “university” and “olympiad.” More than nine thousand student-athletes from over 170 countries participate and staff members for Team Canada are largely employees from universities across Canada.
Charles, who provides play-by-play for the UBC Okanagan Heat volleyball and basketball webcasts, says he is thrilled to once again be representing UBC Okanagan internationally.
The 29th Summer Universiade takes place from August 19 to 30, 2017.
