B.C.’s superintendent of Graduation and Student Transitions talks about transforming education

Jan Unwin will speak at UBC Okanagan’s campus on August 10.

Jan Unwin, Superintendent of Graduation and Student Transition at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Advanced Education, will be the keynote speaker at UBC Okanagan’s upcoming Scholar Practitioner conference.

Hosted by the Faculty of Education, the conference is an opportunity for all educators to foster and enhance professional knowledge and understanding. Community educators, faculty, undergraduate and graduate students are invited to present their research and/or professional projects at the conference.

Unwin was hired in 2014 to help with the development of partnerships between post-secondary institutions, school-districts, employers and government. Her talk, “Transforming Education in BC: Aligning what we do with what we know” will examine the current landscape of education.

The event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.
